Service Fee Disclosure
What Jetvala's service fee is, how much it costs per passenger, what it pays for and when it is refunded.
Last updated September 8, 2026
In effect since September 8, 2026
Effective 2026-09-08. Version 3.5.
This disclosure applies only to Jetvala's flight-booking service fee. Separate services have separate quote- or product-specific pricing and terms.
What the fee is
Jetvala charges a service fee on each flight booking. It is separate from the airline fare. It is shown as its own line on the price breakdown before you enter payment details, and that line carries the words NON-REFUNDABLE after the 24-hour free cancellation window, including if the airline later cancels or significantly changes the flight. The total price you see on the very first screen that shows a price already includes the fee, so the number you see is the number you pay (14 CFR 399.84).
We are an independent ticket agent. The airline sets the fare. Jetvala Travel LLC is the merchant of record for every flight booking completed and paid for on Jetvala's checkout: Jetvala charges your card for the full total and pays the airline. The service fee is how Jetvala earns its living; we do not mark up the fare and we do not hide anything inside it.
How much it costs
The fee is charged per passenger. The first passenger pays the rate for the trip type, each additional passenger with a seat pays $15, and the total service fee on one order never exceeds $199.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| First passenger, domestic itinerary (all airports in the United States) | $29 |
| First passenger, international itinerary (Caribbean, Latin America, Canada, Mexico) | $59 |
| First passenger, long-haul itinerary (Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Oceania) | $79 |
| Each additional passenger with a seat | $15 |
| Maximum service fee per order | $199 |
In words, in case the table above does not display: the first passenger pays $29 on a domestic itinerary, $59 on an international itinerary, or $79 on a long-haul itinerary; each additional passenger with a seat pays $15; and the service fee for the whole order is capped at $199. When the cap applies, the capped amount is allocated across the passengers on the order pro rata, in proportion to what each passenger would otherwise have paid.
Infants travelling on a lap do not count as additional passengers. The exact amount for your booking appears on the first price screen, on the checkout page before you pay, and on your receipt afterward.
Worked example. Two adults booking a round trip from Newark to Port-au-Prince. That is an international itinerary. At today's schedule the first passenger's fee is $59 and the second passenger's fee is $15, so the service fee on the order is $74. If the airline total (fare plus taxes) is $900, the total shown on the first results screen and charged to your card is $974. The price breakdown shows "Airline fare and taxes $900" and "Jetvala service fee $74, NON-REFUNDABLE after the 24-hour free cancellation window, including if the airline later cancels or significantly changes the flight". If the booking was made at least 7 days before departure and you cancel within 24 hours of booking, the whole $974 comes back to your original form of payment, including the $74.
Cap example. Ten passengers on a long-haul itinerary would otherwise pay $79 plus nine times $15, which is $214. The cap of $199 applies instead, and the $199 is spread across the ten passengers in proportion to their uncapped amounts.
What it pays for
Federal rules allow a ticket agent to keep a service fee on a refunded ticket only if the fee covers real services beyond processing your payment and its amount and non-refundable status were clearly disclosed before purchase (14 CFR 399.80(l)). Our fee covers:
- Human support in English, Kreyòl and French on WhatsApp, phone and email, before, during and after your trip.
- Monitoring your booking for schedule changes and telling you about them.
- Handling change, cancellation and refund requests with the airline on your behalf, with no extra Jetvala fee.
- Travel document reminders and Secure Flight and passport data handling.
- Our search and booking technology, including fare rules and baggage allowance shown up front.
When the fee is refunded
The fee is refunded in full when:
- You cancel under our 24-hour free cancellation (booking made at least 7 days before the first departure, cancelled within 24 hours of booking). This is Jetvala's own promise: the full amount you paid, including the fee, goes back to your original form of payment, whether or not the airline voids the fare.
- The airline cancels the ticket because of a pricing error.
- Jetvala made an error in your booking.
The fee is not refunded when:
- You cancel or change voluntarily after the 24-hour free cancellation window, even if the fare itself is refundable.
- A carrier cancels or significantly changes the flight after the 24-hour window and the covered Jetvala services have been provided. In every case, the fee is retained only to the extent permitted by 14 CFR 399.80(l), after its amount, per-passenger basis and non-refundable status were clearly and prominently disclosed before purchase.
Nothing else from us
We do not charge booking fees on top of the service fee, card surcharges, "convenience" fees, fees to speak to a person, or fees to change or cancel a booking. Airline change or cancellation fees, fare differences and optional extras are shown separately and only when they apply.
Separate services
Separate services. Transfers, car rentals, tours, and group or charter services are not governed by this flight service-fee disclosure. Each requires a separate written quote and service-specific terms showing the entire price, cancellation terms, refund rights, provider and merchant of record before acceptance or payment.
Hotels and travel insurance are not currently offered for sale; fee terms for those products will be added if and when we offer them.
