Cap-Haïtien to Newark brings you straight into the New York area in about four hours on Sunrise Airways, with no US connection to worry about. You clear immigration at Newark Terminal B, where lines for non-US passport holders can run long on evenings when several international flights land together, so keep your address in the US and return details handy. From Terminal B, NJ Transit trains run to Penn Station New York and to Newark Broad Street in under 30 minutes, and the AirTrain connects the terminals. If you are booked on American via Miami instead, remember that immigration happens in Miami, not Newark.
